BOTANICAL STUDIES
One of my first paper sculptures was a Poppy. After taking a real Poppy flower apart to show my daughter what was inside I realised how paper like the petals were and how structural it was. I set about trying to create a template pattern from the pieces of real flower I had in front of me. I continued to develop this method of working with plants, incorporating the use of photographs as well and have now document a large collection of different species, both from the UK and around the world.
