PAPER SCULPTURES, COLLECTIONS AND INSTALLATIONS

My work often begins with a particular encounter: a plant discovered on a walk, an insect observed closely, a memory connected to a place or a story shared by someone else. Using reclaimed paper, wire and thread, I transform these observations into detailed, life-sized sculptures.

The individual pieces are then brought together as collections, commissions and installations, creating small ecosystems that invite us to look more closely and consider the relationships between species, materials, memories and place. Explore some of my recent and selected projects below.

OUTNUMBERED

2015 - Present.

An ongoing collection documenting the extraordinary diversity of insects through detailed, paper sculptures. They have been created to encourage a greater curiosity and appreciation for the Insect Kingdom.

BOTANICAL STUDIES

2015 - Present.

A collection of life-sized plant sculptures inspired by close observation of wild flora. They celebrate the intricate forms, textures and quiet beauty of species that are often overlooked.

2015 - Present.

A collection of paper sculptures inspired by the plants, fungi and small discoveries found within woodland landscapes. These pieces explore the richness and interconnectedness of our woodlands and their often overlooked ecosystems.

A collection of native plants created from reclaimed paper to celebrate a family’s connection with the landscapes of Iowa.

Private Commission | 2025.

A private commission inspired by the shells and marine life encountered in the Bahamas, transforming personal memories of place into a collection of detailed paper sculptures.

Whitebrook Restaurant | 2024.

A collection of botanical sculptures inspired by the wild plants foraged and served at the Whitebrook Restaurant in Monmouthshire, UK. It incorporates an old map to connect the work with the surrounding landscape and its papermaking history.

A series of paper flora and fauna collections inspired by rare, extinct and endemic species encountered during travels around the world.

A collection of intricate paper sculptures exploring the unusual forms, behaviours and shared connections found across the natural world, encouraging us to look beyond familiar ideas of beauty and recognise our kinship with other species.

A paper sculpture display celebrating the distinctive Miss Joaquim orchid.

It was created to highlight the national significance of a species deeply connected to Singapore.

A collection of life-sized paper insect sculptures inspired by the remarkable diversity, colour and adaptation found within the insect world, inviting closer attention to species that are often overlooked.

BUTTERFLY WINDOW DISPLAY

Sotheby's Diamonds | 2018.

A large-scale installation of paper butterflies created for Sotheby’s Diamonds, using movement, colour and repetition to transform a retail window into an immersive natural display.
